Be Mine - Custom Valentines Day Cards

Can you believe it’s February already!? Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. And even though everyone usually thinks of it as a romantic holiday where you do things for your sweetie and make them feel special (it is! It definitely is. It’s a great time to make a marriage proposal, or take couples photos, or get married, too!) I also kind of like to think of it as a fun opportunity to send out cards to friends and loved ones. I mean, what else would a paper-color-cardstock-a-holic do on a holiday than use it as an excuse to make and send pretty things?

All right, I also kind of enjoy sending out candy with the cards, and of course there’s ALWAYS leftover candy and chocolate…. what else is a girl to do!? It would be a shame to let it go to waste. I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but it’s just because I’m so sweet! Give me chocolate and paper and leave me to my own devices and I will be happy for the rest of the day.

But really – when was the last time you actually gave out Valentine cards to your friends? Most people only do it when they’re still in school because that’s what everyone does. But it is kind of fun, isn’t it? Receiving cards and candy from those you care about, “just because.” There are a lot of people who are single on Valentine’s Day and aren’t really going to be celebrating the holiday. It can really brighten their day to receive a card from a friend.

So what are you waiting for!? Time is running out. If you would like unique Valentine’s Day cards for you to send out to your friends and loved ones (or custom invitations to your Valentine's Day party) contact us at BG Design Studio with the details and we’ll make the magic happen. We are the queens of anything and everything paper! You name the colors or styles you like and we’ll create something that you and your friends will love. You know they’ll be smiling when they open their pretty paper confection and see how much you care.

Wedding Appetizers and Eats

Gruyere puffs topped with bacon and chive

Gorgonzola Cheese Cups with Pear and Hazelnut Green Salad

Searching for some ideas of potential appetizers to serve at your wedding? Here’s a post that is guaranteed to make your mouth water and your stomach grumble! Take a look at this collection of yummy wedding appetizers – don’t these look sooooo good!? I love all of the nibbles that caterers serve at weddings and these are definitely something to drool over!

Herb cream cheese and cucumber bites with chive, oregano, thyme, and basil

Mini pancake stacks with blueberry and maple syrup

There are a lot of classic eats that you often see served on special occasions and events like a wedding – bruschetta, marinated olives, meatballs, mini quiches, stuffed mushrooms, tortellini bites, shrimp cocktail, mozzarella balls, chicken skewers and so on. It’s often good to have a few familiar staples for the pickier eaters in the group that like to eat things that they know and love. But I always get excited when I see something new and fun being served up! I like a little creativity from the chefs. Especially when they start combining unique flavors that you are often surprised and delighted by because they taste so GOOD together! Even if it’s just a unique twist on an old favorite.

Pear, prosciutto, goat cheese, and honey

Bacon wrapped cream cheese jalapeƱo bites

I’ve seen some very creative couples go a step further and really create a wedding that involves the food – whether it’s to serve food that matches the theme or venue of the wedding (like sushi or thai or mexican) or even to have a cooking-inspired bridal shower where the food is more of a focal point. There are so many fun ideas out there to give you inspiration for your own special day!

Chicken salad tarts with mango, blackberry and basil

Crostini with brie cheese, strawberries, honey and basil

If you need some help planning your wedding or you’re looking for someone to create the paper goods for your wedding eats (table toppers, signage, and so on…) let us know! We can help make your memorable evening a feast for the eyes as well!

I love the shimmer and sparkle of New Year’s Eve Parties and the festivities that accompany ringing in the new year! I always get caught up in the excitement and enthusiasm of beginning a brand-new 365-day slate, completely fresh, with no mistakes in it! And what a better way to begin a new year and a new life together by tying the knot on New Year’s Eve? It’s just so romantic!

That’s why when I stumbled upon these gorgeous photographs from a New Year’s Eve wedding, I stopped dead in my tracks. Tell me this is not the PERFECT setting for New Year’s!?!? I would not mind being invited to this party. So much glitz and glam in one space!

Don’t mind me while I gush over the perfect combination of purple, blue, and silver offset by so much SPARKLE.

Ice sculptures? Snowflakes? Dozens of LED lights? Everything about this wedding is simply to. die. for. There is enough winter wonderland in these photos to send me to the moon. I imagine going to this wedding would be like spending New Year’s on another planet under the stars – so modern and glamorous! The photographer, Jessica Claire, did an amazing job of capturing the whole event. I practically feel like I’m there!

Oh, Holiday Cheer! Custom Designed Cards Are Here?

‘Tis one of the happiest seasons of the year and the air is full of jingle bells, glitter, and holiday cheer! As Hanukkah is here and Christmas draws near, it’s time to send cards to all those you hold dear! Okay, okay, I’ll try to refrain from the bad rhyming. I just get so excited sometimes for the holidays that I can’t stop myself.

I know -- as fun as the holidays can be, all hot cocoa on cold days and warm moments with family and friends, it can also be a bit stressful, too. Running around, trying to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list while the malls are packed with more people than ever.

That’s why it can be SO nice to be able to take one of the big things off of your to-do list and just hand it off to someone else to take care of for you. Hiring a professional to put together custom holiday cards for you gives you one less thing to think about and you can spend more time focusing on other things this holiday season. Look at some of these gorgeous cards from our vendor, Envelopments! We can put together cards like this for you and your family, or create something completely unique just for you.

And if you’re trying to stay on budget this holiday season, there’s still time to nab one of our Mini Photo Sessions! For just $180, Kincannon Photography will do a mini photo session with you and provide up to 3 high resolution images that we will then use to create 25 gorgeous holiday cards for you to send out to family and friends! But don’t wait too long – this deal is only good until December 21! So schedule a time with us now, before all of the spaces run out. They’re almost gone!

If you already have a photo you would like to use, we can create some fantastic cards for you with those as well. And the sky is the limit! Whether it’s family cards, a holiday party invite, business well-wishes, or something completely different, we can provide exactly what you need. Contact us to find out more.

Long Island Romance

Photo courtesy of Isabelle Selby Photography

I am sitting here drooling over this gorgeous Long Island wedding that was featured on Style Me Pretty a while back. It’s the perfect blend of elegant and understated: a rustic, sweet and romantic occasion that was captured on camera beautifully! I mean, look at these pictures and tell me you wouldn’t LOVE to have this as you’re wedding! (See, you can’t do it, admit it!) The Foundry is the perfect place to get hitched and this couple make it even more perfect.

The soft focus and warm colors of the photography really capture the whole atmosphere of the event. Especially all of those gorgeous floral arrangements – they’re to die for!! Every time I see beautiful bouquets like this I suddenly get a hankering to grow gardens full of flowers and cut and arrange them all the time! (Yeah, right!! Like I’d ever have the patience to do that…) But really, don’t you kind of feel like that when you look at these florals? They certainly bring out the creativity in me! Anyone have a garden full of blooming flowers I can borrow for a day to satisfy my sweet tooth for flower arranging? :)

I love the idea of using a fan as one of the paper goods for the reception – SO cute! Even though it’s the middle of winter right now and it’s absolutely freezing outside, this would be perfect for those hot summer weddings! If you’re planning a summer wedding and you think it would be cute to do something like this for your ceremony or reception, let us know! We love creating custom-tailored paper goods specially for your event.

Mini Photo Session and Holiday Cards!

Look out... they're finally here!!!

(Click on the image to see larger.)

BG Design Studio is teaming up with Kincannon Photography to bring you a mini photo session and holiday cards for you and your loved ones!!

This 30-minute photo session with Kincannon Photography is good for up to 4 people and is a great chance for you to get some beautiful professional photos of you and your family this winter. (The kids grow up SO fast... you know as well as I do that if you don't take the time to take those pictures now, they're going to be a foot taller before you know it!!)

You will leave the session with up to 3 high resolution digital images. BG Design Studio will then use those images to create 25 gorgeous Holiday Cards for you to share with all of your loved ones! This is perfect for those family members that live out of state that you won't have the chance to see this holiday season.

The good news is, if you need more than 25 holiday cards, there are upgrades available. The bad news is, this offer is only good until December 21, 2012! So if this sounds like a steal to you (and it is, for only $180!) then you'll want to jump on this right away -- this only happens once a year.

Contact Brittney@KincannonPhotography.com to reserve your spot!
